There are many ways for members to get involved in the governance structure of Sister Cities International, both at the national and local levels.

Sister Cities International Board of Directors Contact Information
At the national level, Sister Cities International is governed by a 24-member Board of Directors. Twenty-one members are drawn from the membership and the additional three members are designated to represent state coordinators, youth and the Ambassador Association, with each representative serving a two-year term. The other 21 Sister Cities International Board members serve for staggered three-year terms, and each year seven Board members are elected by the membership at the Annual Business Meeting during the Annual Conference in July.
The Board elects the president, who serves a two-year term, and the other officers, who serve one-year terms.

The Board performs many of its responsibilities through its committee system. Often, the Board includes volunteers from member communities to serve on the committees.

Sister Cities International State Coordinators

Sister Cities International and its members receive much support from a dedicated group of volunteers known as the State Coordinators. Our goal is to have a least one State Coordinator assisting in every state.
