Sister Cities International is governed by a 24-member Board of Directors. Twenty-one members are drawn from the membership and the additional three members are designated to represent state coordinators, youth and the Ambassador Association, with each representative serving a two-year term. The other 21 Sister Cities International Board members serve for staggered three-year terms, and each year seven Board members are elected by the membership at the Annual Business Meeting during the Annual Conference in July.
