Sister Cities International is a nonprofit, citizen diplomacy network that creates and strengthens partnerships between US and international communities to increase global cooperation at the local level. Headquartered in Washington, DC, Sister Cities International promotes sustainable development, youth involvement, cultural understanding, and humanitarian assistance. The Sister Cities International network represents more than 2,500 comunities in 134 countries around the world.
The Membership Department of Sister Cities International is currently seeking a dymanic individual who is interested in learning more about the workings of a member-based nonprofit association. Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate university program.
Responsibilities:
- Correspond with current and potential members
- Assist with both member recruitment and retention campaigns
- Reseach and report on member programs
- Research and compose membership-related articles for the e-newsletter
- Maintain and update membership databases
- Other administrative tasks, as assigned
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Customer service experience
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience living or working abroad
- Proficient at Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Fluency in a second language preferred
Summer - $1000 stipend for full time commitment
